Tories make good early running in Devon County Council elections

DEVON County Council election results are being steadily declared as counting takes place around the county this morning (Friday).

As of 11am today, 10 of the county's 62 electoral divisions had been declared.

No counts had been announced in Northern Devon, although in the East and West of the region, the Conservatives have victories in Axminster, Broadclyst and Whimple; Budleigh; Exmouth Halsdon and Woodbury; Honiton St Michael's; Willand and Uffculme; Newton St. Cyres and Sandford; and Tiverton West.

The Liberal Democrats have taken Exmouth Brixington and Withycombe, and Exmouth Littleham and Town.
