The outside lane of the eastbound carriageway, from Uplowman Bridge to Junction 27 of the M5, has been closed for the past three weeks as part of the major maintenance scheme which is continuing on the road. The eastbound carriageway will be closed overnight from 7pm tonight (Friday) to enable the closure to be moved over to the inside lane. A signed diversion will be in place. The outside lane (eastbound) will be back in use from 7am tomorrow (Saturday), with the inside lane closed 24 hours a day until Thursday, December 20. The westbound carriageway remains unaffected with both lanes open. Contractor Mildren Construction is carrying out the upgrade of the road surface and drainage on 6.5km of the road on behalf of Devon County Council.
