Time to nominate your Ilfracombe community heroes and local champions
Ilfracombe’s annual awards ceremony has been given a new name for 2026 – who will be your nomination?
Ilfracombe residents are invited to nominate outstanding people, groups or businesses who have gone the extra mile and made a difference to their community.
The Ilfracombe Community Awards 2026 is the new name for the annual Pride in Ilfracombe Awards and the initiative is run by Ilfracombe Town Council.
The council is keen to recognise unsung heroes, dedicated volunteers, inspiring young people, community-minded businesses and anyone whose contribution deserves to be celebrated.
Nominations are now being invited for 10 categories, with a closing date of Wednesday, September 16.
The categories are: Community Champion; Volunteer of the Year; Young Achiever; Good Neighbour; Community Group; Business in the Community; Environmental Champion; Creative Arts; Outstanding Contribution to Ilfracombe; Mayor's Award for Civic Pride.
The Mayor of Ilfracombe, Mark Faye, said: “We are delighted to announce an exciting new chapter for one of Ilfracombe’s much-loved community celebrations. Formerly known as the Pride in Ilfracombe Awards, the event will now be known as the Ilfracombe Community Awards.
“The new name reflects the true spirit of the awards: recognising and celebrating the people, organisations, businesses and groups that make a positive difference to our town and its community.
“The Ilfracombe Community Awards will continue the proud legacy of the previous awards by shining a spotlight on those who go above and beyond. From dedicated volunteers and inspiring young people to community champions, local businesses and organisations, the awards will celebrate the kindness, commitment, achievements and community spirit that can be found throughout Ilfracombe.
“While the name may be changing, the heart of the awards remains firmly the same – bringing the community together to recognise those whose efforts help make Ilfracombe a wonderful place to live, work and visit.”
