Join the annual Barnstaple blitz on litter and grot spots, plus plenty of community fun along the way.

AN army of willing volunteers and helpers has declared war on litter and grot spots this week as Barnstaple Town Council launched its Tidy Up Our Town campaign.

Following the launch at St Anne’s Community Centre on Monday, schools, community groups and organisations have been busy carrying out litter picks, cleaning and removing fly posters in the annual bid to make the town a brighter place.

The week concludes with a free community Day at Yeo Valley Woodland on Saturday from 11am-3pm, with a wide range of activities for the whole family to enjoy.

This will include face painting, welly wanging, hobby horse racing, rubbish relays, animal log carving, free craft sessions plus hot and cold food.
