Three people have been airlifted to hospital after a serious head on collision this morning (Saturday). An Vauxhall Astra was in collision with a BMW just before 11am between the B3237 at Clovelly roundabout and Bideford Bay Caravan Park. Two air ambulances attended the scene, as well as the police helicopter in case it was needed to assist casualties. The driver of the Astra, a 28-year-old man from Bideford, has been airlifted to Derriford with serious injuries. A family of four, from Bideford, in the BMW were all injured in the collision. A man and woman from the BMW have been airlifted to North Devon District Hospital with serious injuries. Two children, also in the BMW, were taken to North Devon District Hospital. A little boy received treatment for minor injuries, and the girl was transferred to Bristol Childrens Hospital where she remains. An off duty paramedic was one of the first to the scene and managed to assist, said police. The road reopened at 5.10pm.
