THREE people are in hospital after their car collided with a tree near Hatherleigh last night (Thursday.)
The silver Vauxhall Corsa was travelling towards Hatherleigh on the A386 when it left the road at Langabeare Barton just before 8.30pm.
The fire service had to release two of the three occupants from the car before they could be treated by South Western Ambulance Service paramedics.
A man in his 40s who had been sitting in the back seat was airlifted to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital with what are thought to be life-threatening head injuries. He is from outside the area.

The front seat passenger, a 42-year-old man, was also taken to hospital with chest and abdominal injuries. The driver, a 40-year-old local woman, suffered leg and facial injuries.
All three are reported to be in a stable condition.
