Thousands of pounds worth of power tools were taken in one night, when thieves broke into three parked vans in Ilfracombe.

A spate of thefts took place overnight between Monday and Tuesday this week.

The first incident involved a Transit van which was parked outside a private garage on Doone Way. Offenders broke into the van and took thousands of pounds worth of power tools before leaving the scene.

The second incident occurred on Queens Avenue, criminals forced their way into a silver Ford Transit van and stole power tools again.

Power tools were also stolen from a white Ford Transit van on Watermouth Road.

Among the items taken during the incidents were power drills, a nail gun, router, wood work tools, a planer and angle grinders.

Police believe the incidents are linked and are asking anyone with information to come forward, especially they have been offered any of the items on sale.
