The Old Grey Whistle Test presenter Bob Harris and former custodian of John Lennon's childhood home Colin Hall talk about the songs which Sir Paul McCartney, John Lennon and George Harrison penned for other artists, at The Plough Arts Centre on January 12.

These include Cilla Black's top 10 hit Step Inside Love and Peter and Gordon's transatlantic chart-topper A World Without Love and the Fab Four's new single Now and Then.

The theatre show is inspired by the BBC Radio 2 documentary hosted by Bob and Colin's book of the same name.

Bob has interviewed all four members of The Beatles and the Fab Four are his most-played artist on radio.

Colin has also interviewed Sir Paul and for nearly 20 years was custodian of John Lennon's childhood home in Liverpool welcoming the likes of Mark Hamill, Debbie Harry and Yoko Ono.

His latest book, The Songs The Beatles Gave Away, which includes a preface from Bob, was Best of British book of the month earlier this year and has featured on Sunday Express, BBC Radio 4 and Times Radio.

Chris Martin says "Bob Harris is a straight-up legend" while Robert Plant remarks "His excitement and love of music and his infectious enthusiasm to bring his audience the rhyme, reason and sounds of a new world is a work of heart."

The Songs The Beatles Gave Away plays the Plough Arts Centre in Great Torrington at 8pm on Friday, January 12. For tickets visit theploughartscentre.org.uk or call the box office on 01805 624624.
