STRAW figures will be out in force at the end of this month as the annual Mortehoe Scarecrow Festival returns to the village.
At least 40 stuffed figures are expected to adorn the streets during the popular event from Friday, July 31 until Monday, August 3.
The festival theme this year is Jobs and Hobbies and it will once again be raising money for St Mary's Church in the centre of the village.
There will be a Scarecrow Trail Competition, with locals and visitors invited to collect an entry form from the church entrance and see how many men and women of straw they can spot during the festival, which runs form 10am-6pm each day.
