The role of parish councils

GEORGE Nympton and Queens Nympton Parish Council is calling on its parishioners to find out how they can have their voices heard at the forthcoming local elections.

The council is holding a presentation at 7pm tomorrow (Thursday) in George Nympton Village Hall to explain its role, who the councillors are, what is involved in being a councillor and why everyone should vote on election day, May 5.

The presentation will be followed at 7.30pm by a parish council meeting, which is open to everyone who wishes to attend.
