Since greyhound Ruby was also our Rescue to Hero category winner, we thought wed reintroduce you to William, a truly unique character. He was nominated by Gina Ambridge from Landkey, who first heard about him when he was on death row in Yorkshire, but he subsequently found another home. That didnt work out and he came to live with Gina just before Christmas. She says he has saved her life by giving her a reason to get up in the morning. Gina describes William as a flatpack dog too many legs, no instructions and a bit missing. He has a lovely smile and gives me a reason to get up in the morning, she told us. My husband passed away last year and life was bleak. Not any more. He takes everything in his stride. He is a clown, intelligent and working towards a Bronze Citizen Award). Never a dull moment and plenty of cuddles. I can honestly say he has saved my life.* William was also nominated by Ginas daughter, Jenny Needham, who said they had never known a dog that wanted to share so much love. Jenny said he is such a jolly dog and always makes them both laugh, She takes him to dog training each week. For me he is the best and has given me so much joy since my stepdad has passed on and given me confidence to meet new people, she said. I have a learning difficulty so find this hard and now having him i can speak to other people about losing my stepdad.
