CALL one Bideford cafe and its two chefs will hop to it to bring real French cooking into your home.Under the fun name Rent-a-Frog, chefs Joachim Monterieux and James Aillaud of the Cafe du Parc adjoining the Burton Art Gallery, have launched a new service to make French cuisine more familiar and more accessible to local people. In addition to running the popular cafe, the pair are now offering to cook and serve meals for functions and dinner parties in people's own homes - and might even do the washing up afterwards!"We will cook and serve the dishes or are also happy to instruct people in French cooking, so they can cook it themselves and eat what they have prepared," said Joe. "This is a good way of making people more familiar with French food and give them an understanding of it."It all started as a joke. A lot of people ask us in the cafe about French food and some said they would like to learn how to cook it. I said they could rent us - and it has grown from there."The name Rent-a-Frog is just meant in fun and I think it is also a name that people will remember."Joe, from Le Mans, and James, from Chamonix, work within a 10-mile radius of Bideford on an hourly rate. Call (01237) 429317.
