BIDEFORD Town Council has chosen Cllr Caroline Church as its Mayor-elect.Mrs Church, who has been a councillor for nearly four years, is the present deputy mayor and also a member of Torridge District Council.Deputy mayor-elect is Cllr Andy Powell.Mrs Church said: "I was delighted to be voted in as Mayor-elect for this forthcoming year. Bideford Town Council has been served very well by the current Mayor, Cllr David Ratcliff, who has led the council in a number of important initiatives for our town. "I, too, am determined to carry on the good work and see through improvements for Bideford, ably partnered by hard working councillors and town council staff. I am also very keen to engage closely with all members of our community to understand what is most needed and to voice our residents' aspirations and concerns.
