TESCO is to unveil plans for its proposed new store at East-the-Water, Bideford, with two public exhibitions .The Pollyfield Centre at East-the-Water will be the venue for the first exhibition on Tuesday (May 27) and another will follow on The Quay on Wednesday (May 28).They will detail plans and artists' impressions for the new store, which will be located on land alongside the East-the-Water Industrial link Road.The store will provide 25,000sq ft of retail space and Tesco will be looking to recruit up to 180 workers.It is planned that the store will be "set-down in the landscape" to help soften its impact and that sustainable building methods will be used.Tesco also says that wildlife corridors will be maintained for species such as badgers and historic hedges along the site boundaries will be retained, with additional new tree and shrub planting.The Tesco exhibition trailer will be at the Pollyfield Centre from 1.30pm-7.30pm on Tuesday and on The Quay in Bideford from 10am - 5pm on Wednesday.There will be an opportunity to leave comments and opinions and discuss any queries or concerns with Tesco representatives.A full planning application will be submitted to Torridge District Council within the next few months.
