2400 youngsters set off on a hike across Dartmoor for the Ten Tors 2017 challenge.

Intrepid explorers from across the South West have set off on hikes of up to 55 miles around Dartmoor for the annual Ten Tors challenge.

East Devon Ten Tors is an annual challenge to the teenagers of the South West of England, hosted on Dartmoor by the Army - 400 teams of six take on hikes of up to 55 miles, depending on age, calling in at ten granite-topped checkpoints.

The positions of all of the teams are being monitored closely be HQ and their GPS tracking system.
