THE Westward Ho! Coastguard Rescue Team plucked two teenage boys to safety from the cliff face at the resort last night (Friday).

The boys were in a precarious position, but one of them had the presence of mind to call 999 Coastguard on his mobile phone.

Eight Coastguard volunteers went to the rescue and brought the boys to safety.

David Jones, the Swansea Coastguard Watch manager said: "Cliffs are dangerous places. The teenagers who were rescued by our local volunteers climbed those cliffs without the right equipment and for no good reason.

"In this good weather everyone wants to enjoy our beautiful coast.. However, to make sure your fun doesn't turn sour, make sure you know when it is high tide, so y.ou don't get cut off and are forced to climb to safety.

"If you do spot someone in danger on the coast, call 999 Coastguard.
