A 14-year-old boy and two men were assaulted during an altercation at Barnstaple Bus Station on Friday evening.

Witnesses are being sought following the incident between 9-9.30pm, which saw the teenager suffer slight facial injuries.

Two others, who police believe stepped in to intervene, were also assaulted but are not thought to have received any serious injuries.

Officers are particularly keen to speak to a woman her 20s who was waiting in Bay F for the Ilfracombe bus at time and who may have spoken to a group of youths there.

A 19-year-old from Bideford was arrested on suspicion of assault and released on police bail to return to Barnstaple police station on November 11.
