Community groups, voluntary organisations and social enterprises can now apply for the scheme, which offers grants from £1,000 all the way up to £10,000 for projects within Torridge. The scheme has raised more than £800,000 in the last three years, helping community halls, local clubs and organisations. Lead member for community, culture and leisure, Phil Pennington, said the grant scheme was one of the most rewarding things about being a councillor in Torridge. He added: Now in its third year, the scheme will continue to provide valuable funding for the many wonderful projects led by local people that continue to benefit local communities. Applications must not be for a project that has already been completed, or outside the councils boundaries. Proposals must have a long-term impact, and require the support of all relevant local ward members on the council. For more information on the scheme, visit the Torridge District Council website.
