Tawstock church shows off its treasures
PEOPLE are being invited to discover the hidden treasures at Tawstock Church at a special two day history event taking place this August bank holiday. The church, near Barnstaple, is celebrating its past and present with an as Twas and as Tis weekend
PEOPLE are being invited to discover the hidden treasures at Tawstock Church at a special two day history event taking place this August bank holiday.
The church, near Barnstaple, is celebrating its past and present with an "as 'Twas and as 'Tis" weekend on August 29 and 30, from 10.30am to 4.30pm each day.
There will be plenty of chance to reminiscence with the Tawstock History Society, and by browsing church records dating back to the early 1800s.
On Saturday, visitors will be able to enjoy a cream tea or take part in one of the discovery nature walks being held around the churchyard at 2.30pm and 3.30pm.

Coffee and biscuits will be served on Saturday and after a church service on Sunday, at 11am.
