Lisa and Peter Earnshaw created Little Silver Nugget in Umberleigh, a distinctive annex to the home which they built four years ago. Guests can enjoy a glass of wine on the quiet patio and lay back and take in the amazing views and stars in the perfectly positioned private hot tub. The couple were awarded gold in the category for Best Hot Tub, based on the style and facilities on offer at the property, as well as its occupancy rate and guest feedback. Lisa said: We love being able to share the property and gorgeous view with other people. Its a constantly changing vista throughout the seasons, so the range of colour is beautiful, and you never tire of looking at it. We are thrilled to be recognised from such a large portfolio of holiday properties throughout the country and we never take for granted that our guests have a choice. Karen and Roger Blake bought Apartment 4 Granville Point in Ilfracombe, a former ballroom of an old Victorian hotel, 10 years ago. The chic apartment was awarded gold in the Best for Walking category. Following their win, Karen said: Were right on the rugged North Devon coast and there are many great walks in the area but one of our favourites is following the coastal path from the apartment to Lee and then on to Woolacombe. The Sykes Gem Awards celebrate the best in holiday cottage accommodation across the UK and are judged by a panel of industry experts.
