After being stuck at ten past three for the best part of a year, the Swimbridge Church clock is now ticking along nicely.

The clock on the tower of St James Church has now been fully restored and should be good for another century of telling the time.

It follows a fundraising appeal by the Friends of St James Church, with support from the community and local councillors.

All are invited to a celebration of the restoration hosted by The Friends at the church Saturday (May 14) from 2.30pm.

There will be a cream tea, information about the clock, a video of the work, a presentation by Samantha Pickering of North Devon Bat Care, and the opportunity to hear about some other exciting projects being developed by the Friends to improve the village amenities

Plus there will be a loud cheer at 3.10pm to mark where the hands were stuck for months.
