All three of the swimming pools in Torridge District have gained a Commended or Approved Accreditation from Quest, the UK Quality Scheme for Sport and Leisure Facilities.Torridge Pool in Bideford received a Quest Commended rating of 70 per cent, and both Holsworthy and Torrington a Quest Approved recognition, with 66 per cent and 65 per cent respectively. Only three per cent of first time applicants nationally gain over 68per cent.Sandie Spratt, of Parkwood Leisure, and general manager of the three sites, said: "We are delighted that all our hard work has been recognised with these awards."Leader of the Council James Morrish, added: "Torridge District Council places real importance in giving our residents, both young and old, the opportunity to enjoy the three pools and leisure centres within the district. To be within the top level of new applicants reinforces our commitment to make Torridge a great place to live, work and visit - not only for today but very much for the future.
