People in North Devon are invited to take part in a housing survey to find out the most important issues affecting the region.Housing Vision Consultancy is working with North Devon, Torridge, West Somerset and North Cornwall Councils to understand housing issues in the South West and identify the main problems faced by local residents.A number of focus groups are planned for the coming months and members of the public who would like to take part have until Friday, February 15 to register. Opinions and comments can also be posted on an online forum at www.cchr.net/forum or through the Councils 'Consultation Finder' at www.northdevon.gov.uk throughout February and March.Feedback from residents, landlords and people working in housing related areas will be used alongside census data, information on social housing, employment figures and property prices to create a 'Housing Market Assessment', which includes the current demand and availability of properties and how this may change in the future. Many different organisations, including North Devon Council, can then use this information to identify ways to improve housing for local people and help focus future housing developments, regeneration plans and economic development schemes across the region. Cllr Andrea Davis, Lead Member for Housing says: "We are appealing for people to take part in this important consultation, as the more information we have on the housing market the better. We really need to know all the facts so we can be in a better position to tackle one of our highest priorities."To register interest in taking part in the focus groups, contact Debby Weller, 7 Poltair Crescent, St Austell, Cornwall, PL25 4LX, phone (01726) 66811 or email:debby.weller@btinternet.com
