Parents are urged to give their children a sporting chance to take part in a range of fun activities these school holidays.The first of North Devon Council's Supersports sessions begin in just a few weeks and places are booking up fast. With 14 different kinds of activities being held, there is something for everyone to enjoy.The five-week programme provides children under 15 years of age with a range of activities to keep them active throughout the summer holidays.As well as the traditional favourites such as football, cricket, tennis and badminton, there are also adventure days at Skern Lodge, pony days, trampolining, kayaking and mountain boarding.Lead Member for Cultural Services (Youth and Diversity) Cllr David Butt says: "Being a teacher, I know how popular and important these sports are and the opportunities provided by the summer holidays. I think it's a really exciting and interesting programme and I know from the children at my school how popular it is proving, so book early and enjoy!"All the activities on offer are detailed in a brochure prepared jointly for the first time by North Devon Council and Parkwood Leisure, the Council's Leisure Centre contractors. It is available from primary and secondary schools and leisure centres across the district.
