Those driving home from work or trips out are being dazzled by the early autumn sunshine as it hangs low in the sky.

On Wednesday alone the area saw four minor collisions between 2-6pm and the sun is being considered as one possible factor.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said, "The summer we expected didn't really happen.
