Dry and sunny spell expected to come to an end with a weather warning in place for Saturday.

A swathe of strong winds is expected to hit North Devon on Saturday.

After a dry and sunny spell, the weather for Easter weekend is not looking so bright.

Winds of up to 45-55mph are expected, with some gusts of 55-65mph in exposed coastal areas.

The Met Office has put a weather warning in place from 6am Saturday until 9pm.

A chief forecaster said: "Whilst the strongest gusts are likely to be confined to coastal districts at first, and in the immediate vicinity of the front, gales are likely to become more widespread inland later in the morning and through the afternoon.

"Winds should ease markedly as the front clears through, particularly in the south."
