CHRISTMAS came early for one youngster from Parkham when former Strictly Come Dancing winner Tom Chambers visited him in hospital.

Harlem Lewis, aged eight, from Brewers Lane, Parkham, was delighted when the former Holby City star brought him presents to Evelina Children’s Hospital.

The visit, organised by the Scotch Brand from 3M and Starlight Children’s Foundation, saw Tom deliver gifts and spend time with patients at the hospital.

Mr Chambers said: “As a dad myself, I believe that Christmas should be a very special and happy time for children.

“I am delighted to support the partnership between the Scotch Brand and Starlight, which bring smiles to poorly children in hospital this Christmas.

“Donations like this from the Scotch Brand are invaluable.

“The donation supports the work of Starlight, but also provides a little magic for the families and incredible staff at hospitals like Evelina London Children’s Hospital.”

Julie Ainsworth, senior play specialist at Evelina London Children’s Hospital, added: “Play and distraction can significantly improve the hospital experience of children undergoing treatment and we are very grateful to Tom Chambers, the Scotch Brand from 3M and Starlight for bringing festive fun and laughter to our young patients yesterday.”
