The Ashford site went on the market for £1million back in June after Wyevale announced it would be selling all 145 of its sites in the UK. The purchase price has not been disclosed. Nick Oliver at St Johns told the Gazette the Ashford site would continue to be operated as a garden centre and going concern, alongside the companys St Johns Lane site at Newport. He said of the Ashford acquisition: We will make improvements to all parts of the centre, starting with the restaurant and bringing a similar offering of food and fare as we would at St Johns Lane. The plant area and the shop will be restocked ready for the Christmas season and we are pleased to be extending our reward car scheme into this store as well. Mr Oliver said the business still had plans to relocate its Barnstaple centre to land at Roundswell, alongside shopping and restaurant outlets. He said: The application for the garden centre at Roundswell, albeit having been refused recently, will continue and it will be resubmitted and it is our long term aim to move St Johns to Roundswell.
