Christmas will officially arrive at St John’s Garden Centre in Barnstaple this Friday (November 23) when Santa arrives on his horse drawn sleigh.

The jolly man in red arrives at 5.30pm and will be joined by Captain Coconut, the Snow Queen, balloon animals, glitter face painting and fair rides for children to enjoy. Santa will be in his grotto from 6pm.

The popular St John’s Santa Band will be playing amid a brand new animated display and collecting for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

This year the Santa Band ensemble is in Santa’s workshop busy getting toys ready to be delivered by Christmas.

Visitors can also enjoy a free walk through the magical winter wonderland and try the festive baubles quiz, as well as indulging in some Christmas shopping, with the centre open until 8pm.

Santa will be at St Johns Garden Centre every weekend and in the school holidays up to and including Christmas Eve. For particular dates and times look online or visit the store.

From this Sunday and all Sundays during December there will be a Christmas Carvery available in the restaurant.
