Organisers pull plug on annual event after heavy rain prompts safety fears for show site.
ORGANISERS have had to postpone next weekend’s South Molton Vintage Rally after heavy rain saturated the showground at Combesland Cross.
The event was scheduled to take place on May 31 and June 1 but has been put back until September on safety grounds.
Event spokesperson Linda Regan said: “Adverse weather conditions have made the ground too wet to be a safe and viable rally site.
“The rally will now be held on September 6 and 7 at the same location.
“All exhibitors documentation (entries passes etc) will be valid for the new date, new exhibitors are welcome.”
A draw of raffle tickets sold to promote the rally will be held at the Town Arms in South Molton on Tuesday, June 10.
All ticket stubs and money must be returned to the promoter (01271 378019) by June 6 and all winners will be notified.
