SCHOOLS in the South Molton district area are joined forces to help provide after hours care facilities for the children of working mums and dads. The town's Community Infant School and United Junior School, together with Filleigh Primary, is holding the first ever "School's Out" after-school club on Tuesday. The daily after school sessions, being held at the infant school on North Road from 3.15-5.13pm, are OFSTED regulated and part of a Government-led extended schools initiative. The new club is being run by Sue Carter and Rachael White and the name was chosen by Jordan Wild from Filleigh Primary."The idea is to help parents who need to work longer or are in training to do so," said infant school bursar Pauline Hall."This exciting new project will give the schools closer working ties and hopefully create a sustainable care provision for parents. "Children from other schools in the area are also welcome."Transport is laid on to take children from Filleigh to South Molton and the £8 fee per session can be re-claimed through tax credits. For more information, telephone Community Infant School on (01769) 572198.
