Work on the roof of the lift was completed this week, marking an exciting stage in the works. Dr Chris Gibb, partner at the medical centre, said: It is fantastic to see real progress on the new premises now. Remaining in occupation of the building during the build has been tricky but we hope that staff and patients will excuse the disruption when they see our exciting new extension open next year. Once the work is complete the Medical Centre will be moving into the new rooms and the contractor will be refurbishing the buildings on the street frontage. Ross Hunt, of David Wilson Partnership, added: By developing the existing site, the project has kept the Medical Centre in the heart of the town which was the favoured location for patients. We are looking forward to the completion of the double-storey waiting room which will be flooded with light from rooflights above as well as generous glazing. The building will be topped by solar PV panels on a green roof, and will be highly insulated to minimise energy consumption. Work continues on the building during 2019 with patients and staff in occupation moving between the phases as they are completed.
