When Lego-mad youngsters ran out of wheels, mayor knew just where to go

The Mayor of South Molton has been building bridges with the town’s Lego club – as well as cars, a tractor and even a tank!

When youngsters who attend the weekly Saturday morning sessions at the library mentioned they were in need of some more wheel bricks, councillor Steve Lock knew just where to go.

He visited Rogers Furniture, Lego and Scalectrix Emporium in Watchet – and returned with a bag of wheels and various other bricks.

They have already been put to use during a competition to build a wheeled vehicle.

“The winner was Ashley Haynes, who built a futuristic tank transporter,” said Mr Lock.

“Other models made were a London bus, a car with various compartments for storage, a tractor with a hoe and a library van.”
