Crown court date set for man facing charges of possessing firearms without a certificate

A farmer charged with possessing multiple firearms without a license has appeared at North Devon Magisitrates’ Court today (Friday).

Leonard Chappell, 59, of South Molton, will face a crown court hearing over four charges of possessing firearms without a certificate, including three shotguns, and another charge of possessing expanding ammunition.

Mr Chappell, represented by Mr Summerville, did not enter a plea on Friday. He will appear at Exeter Crown Court on November 15 at 10am, and is on unconditional bail until that date.
