FIND out about learning something new for work, improvement or just for fun at Adult Learners' Week events in Ilfracombe and Bideford this Friday.Devon Adult and Community Learning will be marking the week with free celebratory events at both the Landmark Theatre and Bideford Arts centre, from 10am-3pm.It is an opportunity for all ages to join in and find out more about the kinds of courses on offer - there will be family learning activities, art taster sessions, a chance to research local history and much more."Adult Learners' Week for many is the beginning of learning and you will be surprised what it can lead to," said Sandra Coates DACL senior administrator."Many of our learners have made new friends, learnt for fun and in some cases gained qualifications, which has helped in securing employment." Ilfracombe's Helen Wood has been nominated for a 2009 Adult Learners' Week Award after the rapid strides she has made in her art courses.Helen began on a Drawing and Painting for Beginners course in 2007 and continued to achieve OCNW Drawing and Painting Level 1 and this year her Level 2.Simply call in at the Landmark or Bideford Arts Centre on Friday to find out more, or call Ilfracombe Two Lanes Centre on (01271) 864171 or Bideford Arts Centre (01237) 472462 for details of more taster sessions.
