‘Some weeks’ until Fullabrook fully connected

Wind farm expected to be properly connected to National Grid within next few weeks.

THE switch on date for Fullabrook Wind Farm to be connected to the National Grid is still some weeks away.

Operator ESB has said it has been assured by Western Power Distribution that work necessary to allow the wind farm to export at full capacity will be completed by the end of January.

Then final testing will need to be carried out before the farm is fully operational.

But ESB said the 22 turbines were already producing up to 50MW of green energy and the final works would allow them to export over and above that, up to the farm’s full 66MW capacity, estimated at enough to power 30,000 homes.
