SIR - I write to publicly thank the young soldier ( a commando ) who came to our assistance last week.
At the time my wife was driving me home from hospital after having eye surgery, when we had a tyre blow out just before the turn-off to Chivenor.
On seeing we had a problem, this young man took complete charge of the situation in a most competent and efficient manner enabling us to complete our journey with minimum delay.
It was indeed a privilege and pleasure to witness at first hand the high calibre and capability of our young servicemen.
