A suspected drink driver who is alleged to have left the scene after crashing a car with two other people on board has been arrested.

Police are investigating the collision which happened at Snapper on the road between Barnstaple and Bratton Fleming at around 2am on Monday morning.

They said a car had collided with a hedge and rolled over, leaving two passengers with minor injuries, while the driver had left the scene.

A 36-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving while over the prescribed alcohol limit and detained under section 10 of the road traffic act for driving whilst unfit through drink.
