Appeal for witnesses after several vehicles are broken into in one night.

MOTORISTS in Ilfracombe have been warned not to leave valuables on display in parked cars after four vehicles were broken into during one night.

Overnight on Tuesday and Wednesday (July 30-31), rear windows were smashed on cars in Portland Park, Orchard Road, Oxford Park and Larkstone Terrace.

Police said a CD changer, sat navs, a laptop and ‘quite a bit of cash’ was taken.

“We’d remind people to be careful with their property and particularly sat navs – better to take them inside with you rather than leave them in the car or glove box,” said acting Sergeant David Thubron of Ilfracombe Neighbourhood Beat Team.

Anyone who saw anything suspicious overnight in the above areas can dial 101 and ask for PC O’ Driscoll, quoting reference CI/13/811.
