A six year old girl from Torrington is doing all she can to raise money for charity.

Holly Cooper is having over 30cm of her hair cut in August and will donate it to the Little Princess Trust.

And with the help of her family she is using the opportunity to raise as much money as possible for the charity, starting with a Coffee morning on Saturday February 27.

The event will take place at Howe Concert Hall in Torrington from 10am – 2pm.

There will be face painting, a jumble sale, and as well as refreshments, a raffle that local businesses have kindly donated items for.

The Little Princess Trust provides real-hair wigs to children who have lost their hair through cancer and illness.

Holly said: “Because my hair is really, really long I thought it would be silly if I chucked it all away.”

Holly’s mother, Laura said: “We came across the charity and we thought it would be a nice thing to do, especially as Holly’s hair is so long.

“We set up a Just Giving Page at the start of January and we’ve already raised £420 from it.

“Our original target was £500, but if the coffee morning goes well then we will see about putting our target up to £1,000.”
