Police traffic operation in Braunton also targetted people not wearing seatbelts and using mobile phones.

Police have carried out a traffic operation in Braunton after concerns were raised by residents.

Complaints included drivers jumping the red lights at the traffic lights in the Square or using mobile phones, said PCSO Andy Frisby.

On Wednesday officers held an operation and dealt with six people jumping red lights, three using mobile phones, and eight people for seatbelt offences.

PCSO Frisby added: “It was a successful operation which will be repeated again in the future.”
