NORTH Devon craftspeople are being invited to showcase their work at festival taking place at the Big Sheep, near Bideford, this September. As part of the Autumn Festival on Saturday, September 6, from 10am to 5pm, the attraction will also be holding a "Deliciously Devon Food Fair" with chutneys, jams, home baked cakes and pies and all sorts of locally produced foods."This is a great opportunity for community groups to show how crafty they can be and also sell their work to visitors and locals, take commissions, or just showcase their work," said event organiser, Claire Payne."Although North Devon is full of professional artists and craftspeople, I believe that we have some hidden gems in the local area working hard on their own crafts. "From card makers selling to friends and family, to potters creating delights for themselves. I really hope we can encourage new craftspeople to use our event as a platform to test the market and sell their own work."Free stands will be provided on a first-come basis so artists and craftspeople need to book as soon as possible," she added. For a booking form and further details, telephone Anne or Claire on (01237) 472366.
