THE Atlantic Village shopping centre in Bideford has been sold for £20 million. It has been bought by London-based property development and investment company Development Securities plc.The factory outlet centre comprises a 20-acre site with 37 retail units and a children's play area.A new Asda supermarket which is being built alongside is due to be opened this summer.Matthew Weiner, director of Development Securities, said: "We believe the Asda opening will change the nature of the centre from factory outlet to convenience retailing, allowing us to introduce more full-price offer retailers. Additionally, there is the potential to extend the scheme and provide room for additional retail anchors which, in turn, will raise further the centre's profile.
