Ronnie Wood, 20, will reappear at Exeter Crown Court on August 22

Sentencing of Barnstaple man Ronnie Wood has been adjourned until August 22 for psychiatric reports, Exeter Crown Court heard on Monday.

Wood, 20, had previously pleaded guilty to possessing more than 4,000 indecent images of children.

In June, North Devon Magistrates' Court heard the images, found between July 2014 and January 2015, involved children as young as 12-months-old.

More than 200 of the 4,881 images and videos were category A images - the most serious kind.

As well as one count of possession and 11 counts of making indecent images, Wood also admitted two counts of possessing extreme pornography involving dogs.

Magistrates deemed the matters so serious they sent Wood, represented by Tony Dart, to Exeter Crown Court.
