AN idea planted at Northam Library has grown so quickly that the nearby Northam Community Centre has now been called on as a venue to bring it to fruition.
The seed and plant swap event is being held on Saturday, September 4, from 2pm to 5pm as one of the library's efforts to promote community events.
"So many people in the area are interested in gardening and borrow gardening books," said a library spokeswoman. "This started as a small event, but is now being talked about throughout the community."
Everyone is invited to the free event. Visitors will be able to bring seeds or plants to swap and, perhaps, find that elusive flower or vegetable they have been seeking for some time.

National companies have also sent a selection of seeds to add to the swap and experts from Rosemoor Gardens in Torrington will be on hand to give help and advice.
