Police helicopter and search teams scoured the village and seafront this morning (Monday)

A major search was launched in Combe Martin this morning (Monday) after a man went missing.

Police said there was concern for the welfare of the local man, in his 50s, and the search was launched in the village and around the seafront area at about 9am.

Search teams and the police helicopter were involved, as was the Ilfracombe inshore lifeboat.

The man was found safe and well just after 10am and police said he was currently receiving support from the appropriate services.
