Police, the coastguard rescue team and two lifeboats were searching around Lynton, Lynmouth and Ilfracombe for the missing camper.
The search for a missing holiday-maker has been called off after the RNLI discovered the body of a man in Lynton.
An extensive sea and land search was underway to local Andrew O’Reilly, 51, from Guildford, who went missing on Sunday.
On Monday, an RNLI found the body of a man in the water at Elwill Bay near Neck Woods, Lynton, at around 5.30pm.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene by attending paramedics.
Formal identification has not yet been carried out although the family of Mr O’Reilly has been informed.
The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
