Captain Jack Sparrow and more nautical capers than you could shake a cutlass at will be heading to the Sea Ilfracombe Maritime Festival this Saturday and Sunday.

The annual event is a celebration of all things maritime and will feature entertainment, live music, street food, sea angling, sandcastle and art competitions, stalls, activities and much more.

By popular demand, Captain Jack Sparrow lookalike Matt Harris and chums will be back creating pirate-related mayhem wherever they pop up.

It all starts at 10am on the Saturday and continues until 4pm Sunday.

Other entertainment includes Dave Hendy with Punch and Judy, Captain Coconut, a mermaid storyteller, facepainting, an Art Trail exhibition and craft tent.

The RNLI and Ilfracombe Pilot Gig Club and Y-Sail will be staging a live sea rescue display on the Sunday at 11.30am.
