THE people of Ilfracombe have been urged to come along to the Landmark Theatre this Friday and Saturday to have their say on the shape of things to come for the seafront.A £5 million regeneration package for the seafront suggested by consultants Perfect Moment, will be revealed by the Seafront Team of Ilfracombe Town Councillors and officers plus their North Devon Council counterparts, on Friday between 3-9pm and on Saturday from 10am-2pm.The consultants were recruited to come up with plans based around culture plus public artworks and their suggestions include a covered walkthrough area between the museum and theatre, a plaza, Capstone slide and a sea view platform."This is the public's chance to help shape the future of Ilfracombe's seafront so we're expecting to get lots of feedback during the two days," said chairman of the seafront steering group, Councillor John Swan."We hope people will be pleased by the idea of an all-weather attraction linking and enhancing two of our best assets, the museum and the theatre, as well as the ideas for the broader seafront area. "If it gets the support of residents the scheme will be used to bid for a Government money made available to regenerate seaside towns. "And thankfully, we won't have long to wait to find out if we are successful - the bid has to be in by the end of June and we will know the result in October.
