RAF Community Plate will be awarded to TS Valiant stalwart.

A BARNSTAPLE sea cadet leader will be awarded the RAF Community Plate at Barnstaple Town Council’s annual town meeting tonight (Monday).

Alistair Macleod, officer in charge of Barnstaple Sea Cadet Unit, will be presented with the annual accolade in recognition of his good leadership, guidance and support at TS Valiant.

The RAF Community Plate was presented to the town council by RAF Chivenor in 1974, to be awarded annually to an individual or group deemed to have made a contribution to the wellbeing of the community of Barnstaple.

PO (SCC) Alistair Macleod will take ownership of the award from North and West Devon chief inspector Toby Davies and will retain the Community Plate until spring 2014.
